I Cannot Wait For Spring: 5 Reasons

Hi guys,
I'm a real home girl, don't like going out much but I'm seriously excited about leaving my front door with out immediately being soaked or blown away. Also it hasn't snowed (much) this year and the snow is the ONLY reason why I put up with being cold...
Hence, here are my 5 reasons for looking forward to spring:

Let's Dance!

Hi guys,
Overall, almost 64% of all adults in England have a body mass index over 25. Figures between 18.5 and 24.9 are considered healthy... In order to help (myself) I've decided to start dancing a little everyday.
Just enough to get my heart rate up whilst I get boogie with it; if you'd like incentives as to why dancing is the best form of exercise I've included a video :)
Enjoy,

Selfishness

Writers are selfish by nature,
at least that's my excuse
we as artist want to express ourselves
but I don't always want to share our thoughts with the world
hours of work and deep revelations can be judged; crumpled in seconds
however, if others can related to MY circumstances and not feel so alone... I owe it to them to help.
Even if it is only small.

Another Valentine. I LOST.

Berry Blush

Berry Blush

I thought up this recipe for Valentines' but honestly it's a good drink at any time:

1 shot Triple Sec
1 shot Vodka (don't bother with the good stuff here)
Juice of half a lime
2 shots cranberry juice (any red juice really)
Mix everything with ice in a small tumbler;
Enjoy

Clumsy

I now have proof that drinking half a bottle of wine with dinner in 3inch heels is a bad idea.
Got home fine, two steps down towards the house I slipped, fell, scratched both my knees and left hand. Hurt like a mo fo.
Anywhooooo, had a lovely day otherwise here's a tip though: Do Not Go Outside (unless strictly necessary) the wind almost swept me up Mary Poppins style not to mention the fucking rain.

Valentines' Day

Today is a day for love so I wrote a love poem:

Contrary to popular belief, Love isn't a feeling
It is not blind emotion occurring whenever it pleases
Love doesn't strike at random touching only people in proximity of each other
It can conquer oceans, time, money and everything in between.
Love isn't the colour of lovers cheeks or the prettiness in their eyes
Love endures it all
Love says: I will stay with you. Always and Forever.
Love shows up with banners, bunting, whistles, fanfare.
Love is not a feeling. It doesn't disappear if lovers quarrel or one hurts the other.
Love hurts BECAUSE it cannot be helped or switched off
What is Love then, I hear you ask
I don't know.... If you figure it out, Let me know.

The Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics

I am slightly ashamed to say that I love the Winter Olympics. A lot. Maybe more than the Summer ones if am honest really. I think it's because the athletes either defy gravity or challenge it in every event. For example, Luge: whose idea was it to slide a man/woman down a mountain at top speed with nothing between the ice and the athlete but a thin board? You'd have to be a crazy genius to think one would not only survive but thrive in that environment. That is probably why I love these games so much. The fact that some people are always trying to push personal boundaries both physical and mental reminds me why I love humanity.
Thus I come to the spirit of the games: Hot, Cool, Yours. To have the world compete to be the best in peaceful friendly ways in my opinion should happen every day. Until then however... These games shall represent the will of not only peace but collaboration, partnership and camaraderie between the participating countries and the watching public.
Ok, that's me done. I was working during the opening ceremony and first day of the games so I recorded everything and now have a ton of television to watch. Ice cream, blankets and pillows await.

Birthday Cake

Hi everyone,
It's my other halfs' birthday today and I baked him a cake. His favourite Red Velvet with cream cheese frosting. Now the cake came out of a box, but the frosting was all me:

Cake:
I used Betty Crocker Red Velvet. Just follow the instructions.
Simple.

Forsting

  • 600g icing sugar
  • 100g unsalted butter
  • 25ml milk
  • 250g cream cheese at room temperature (Preferably full fat I used Philadelphia)

  1. Beat the icing sugar, butter and milk together until just combined.
  2. Add the cream cheese and using and electric whisk, whisk for 5 minutes until smooth and creamy.
  3. The cake has to be stone cold otherwise the icing will melt. Sandwich the icing between the cakes spreading it evenly on the tops and sides as well.
