My Easy Steps To Moving Home

My Easy Steps To Moving Home
This was going to be a a quick and easy guide to moving home, but as I realised during my own moving process; these things take a lot of planning. Here we go:

  1. Make a list of people/companies you need to inform about the move.
  2. In order of priority start sending letters or calling depending on the person/company. Bear in mind the council doesn't mind being told up to 3 weeks in advance but the gas and electric company has to be day off (apologies).
  3.  If you're planning on taking your TV package i.e. broadband and supplier with you to your new home then you need to let them know in advance as to avoid disrupting your connection as much as possible. also this may be a good time to shop around for a better deal on phone line rental/TV package/broadband. Mind you I realise this will probably be a busy time so don't feel like you have to do everything at once.
  4.  PACK!!!!! PACK!!!!!! PACK!!!!! I cannot emphasise this point enough. We all have more stuff (or crap in my case) than we think we do. A little bit everyday the week of your move will save a lot stress on the day.

Ship - Carol Ann Duffy

SHIP
In the end,
it was nothing more
than the toy boat of a boy
on the local park’s lake,
where I walked with you.

But I knelt down
to watch it arrive,
its white sail shy
with amber light,
the late sun
bronzing the wave
that lifted it up,

my ship coming in
with its cargo of joy.

Bread - The Staff of Life

Welcome, to Book of Elsa!
For those who visit my site often carbohydrates are a common sight. The truth is, I love them (too much some might say) in all forms... BREAD being very high on the list.
This is NOT my first attempt at baking bread from scratch; this is NOT my 10th attempt either. I can honestly write that I've wasted tonnes of flour trying to achieve the perfect staff of life and that I kept failing. Badly. All I ever had to show for my efforts were badly shaped, flour covered rocks with the texture of sawdust.
Until this recipe here by Paul Hollywood. Anyone, can make this. I promise.

Book Review - Bitten by Kelley Armstrong

Hi and Welcome back to my blog,
Recently finished reading Bitten by Kelley Armstrong, here's my review.
Its a first book in a series about supernatural beings such as werewolves, focuses on a female werewolf called Elena who is trying to escape 'pack' life. Very easy read, but won't change your life.

Edinburgh Travel

Hi!
Welcome back,
I've only just got back from my trip to Edinburgh and may I just tell you: The pictures will not do it justice. It is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever visited combining old and new parts of town seemingly. The Scots are so warm and friendly I cannot wait to show you guys... I'm making/editing as I type. The excitement was killing me so I'd thought I'd share a little now.
ENJOY XXO :)

Let's Dance!

Hi guys,
Overall, almost 64% of all adults in England have a body mass index over 25. Figures between 18.5 and 24.9 are considered healthy... In order to help (myself) I've decided to start dancing a little everyday.
Just enough to get my heart rate up whilst I get boogie with it; if you'd like incentives as to why dancing is the best form of exercise I've included a video :)
Enjoy,

The Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics

I am slightly ashamed to say that I love the Winter Olympics. A lot. Maybe more than the Summer ones if am honest really. I think it's because the athletes either defy gravity or challenge it in every event. For example, Luge: whose idea was it to slide a man/woman down a mountain at top speed with nothing between the ice and the athlete but a thin board? You'd have to be a crazy genius to think one would not only survive but thrive in that environment. That is probably why I love these games so much. The fact that some people are always trying to push personal boundaries both physical and mental reminds me why I love humanity.
Thus I come to the spirit of the games: Hot, Cool, Yours. To have the world compete to be the best in peaceful friendly ways in my opinion should happen every day. Until then however... These games shall represent the will of not only peace but collaboration, partnership and camaraderie between the participating countries and the watching public.
Ok, that's me done. I was working during the opening ceremony and first day of the games so I recorded everything and now have a ton of television to watch. Ice cream, blankets and pillows await.

Happy New Year!!

Chinese New Year is upon us and the year of the Horse is my birth year sooo to celebrate I am getting Chinese food and having an old style Jet Li marathon starting with Once Upon a Time in China and Martial Arts of Shaolin. Can't Wait!
Also I've found a recipe for my favourite dim sum of all time: Pork and Prawn Dumplings, from the BBC Food website to try later...
Any recommendations??

Happy Year of the Horse!

Drunk In Love - Beyonce

Am going to be honest here and say that I didn't like Beyonce in Destiny's Child. T'was the summer of 2003 I think when Dangerously In Love (the album NOT the single) came out and I had it on loop for about a year that our love affair really began and boy can that woman sing!
Her latest offering is a self titled album that is in all honesty good but not great; I think it's because she tried to do too much on one record: the evolution of Bey from young girl to woman to mother.
In my opinion ones' life cannot be condensed so easily. However, my favourite song is drunk in love with Jay-Z the video of which is below.
Enjoy,
