Edinburgh Travel

Hi!
Welcome back,
I've only just got back from my trip to Edinburgh and may I just tell you: The pictures will not do it justice. It is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever visited combining old and new parts of town seemingly. The Scots are so warm and friendly I cannot wait to show you guys... I'm making/editing as I type. The excitement was killing me so I'd thought I'd share a little now.
ENJOY XXO :)

Pancakes

Hi!
Made pancakes this beautiful morning thought I'd share the recipe:

Ingredients:
Makes about 24 pancakes, obviously less if they're larger.
1 cup plain flour
1 cup whole milk
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
pinch of salt
2 tablespoon of sugar
1 egg
1 tablespoon of melted butter
Method:
whisk all the ingredients in a blender or using a whisk until just combined, leaving the butter till last.
Dollop one tablespoon of mixture at a time on a hot griddle. Once bubbles appear, flip and cook for a further 30 seconds. Remove to waiting plates.
Apply to face and Enjoy!

Happiness

It doesn't take much to make me happy, seriously I am all about the little things in life. When you grow up having next to nothing, struggling with the basics and all the while pretending you're ok the simplest things can no only make one happy but also bring me to tears.
Like having a hot shower, pure joy.
Like buttered toast the smell of which is, in my opinion what heaven smells like.
I'm not saying growing up poor is awful, by all means it wasn't. My mother never let our lack of money show either to us or other people. Far from it, I'm saying it made me appreciate what I have now all the more. It has made me want better for myself, it has taught me to work hard.  But most of all, it has shown me that one doesn't need a lot in order to not only survive, but be HAPPY. Isn't that, at the end of the day what we're all aiming for?

Nourishing Hair Mask

Hi everyone!
About once a month I deep condition my hair, I do this by using a recipe that leaves my hair really really soft and shiny. I thought I'd share it with you guys.
PS: There's a short video at the bottom showing my hair afterwards....

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons of pure coconut oil, melted and left to cool
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons of honey, any kind you have is fine I used clear
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon grated ginger

Method:
Mix all the ingredients in a small bowl until thoroughly combined. Section your hair into four and apply generous amount of the mix from root to tip. Once all sections are done; the remainder of the mixture can be tipped onto your head and massaged in, then using an old shower cap cover your hair and leave as is for 30 minutes to an hour.
Once the time has passed, wash/condition/style as normal.
Enjoy!!

I would love to know if you have any hair recipes you swear by please comment below

Still I Try

Finished writing a short novel yesterday. The weight of all the agency rejections letters lies heavy on my doormat, Still I Try.
Emails of job rejections clogging up my email, but Still I Try.
I refuse to leave this world without sharing the arts of my labour; all this work cannot die and dissipate with a cold corpse six feet under.
Thus, Still I Try.

Chocolate Pavlova

Hi guys,
Today I was consumed with the need to make a Pavlova not just any Pavlova; but a heavenly chocolate one from Nigella Lawson - Forever Summer. Trust me, once you've tried it, cravings for it will find you whenever and wherever you are.
PS: Forgot to mention in the video: once cooked turn off the oven and open the door slightly; let the chocolate disc cool completely. When ready to serve, inverse onto a serving dish, mound about 500ml of whipped cream on top and decorate with whatever fruit you have to hand. Enjoy.
